Another items crossed.
I sudah booked the fomtano sink. Sampai jer di situ, I got better price than I have over the phone. Got 2 free gifts including the sink basket dan terbeli plak chopping board. Tetiba hari ni I terfikir betapa mahalnya chopping board for a RM80... but it is solid wood dan I tak pernah ada chopping board for years....
And then what is good and keep me under the budget so far is I ternampak the mixer tap. Close to what I want and best is.. it has the pull out shower as well. So sangat heaven. Lagi heaven bila harganya cuma RM400. I saved about RM300.
Lepas tu. I pergi berjalan di bawah, i nampak sink for the laundry for just only RM98. Tapi sebab belum pergi SORENTO, I tahan diri I..........
Selepas itu, late for an hour for the curtain confirmation meeting. Akhirnya I dah bayar deposit 50%. minus the living room and dining room.
So.. curtain issues almost solved. I am getting there.
And guess what?

Taking a break...
In about 2 hours, to provide some updates to the management.
Semua dah siap. So I am just trying to do something away from the worries.
Thank you owner of the picture. Love the hanging TV console. This is how my family room would look like.
For walk-in cabinet, previously I do not like the line on the door. But not so bad lah kan?
See macam trend lak ada line tu.. but if no line also ok jugak.. hmm.....
Anyway, here are some updates for me to track and do some follow up:
1. Last saturday I went to see the alternate electrician who is a general contractor. So I asked him to quote me the fridge base, the backyard awning and cost to re-do the living hall false ceiling. He will come back today before 2pm. The other guy quoted me with 2880. So I think safely to put aside 3.5k for this job. Awning ni.... I am quite worried actually.
2. Jack "the curtain" guy asked me about the curtain. Which I am now re-changing my strategy. Since the false ceiling is not confirmed I might not do the living hall curtain yet until this being resolved.
3. The kitchen and wardrobe contractor - the designer's sis in law passed away so the lack of updates for 3 days now justified. I will be dropping by to their office on this coming tuesday just to make sure things are progressing and to confirm some details.
4. I need to place an order for the kitchen sinks now that I know their offices are located in Puchong. Maybe on wed.
5. I have seen the kids outdoor edited picture and like to print some. so will try to save on my harddrive and send to the shop before friday.
6. I now know which school the kids should go. So to do the arrangement with the old schools before this friday too.
7. We are not sure about smart reader yet. Too far away. *pening*...... Whatever our decision is, it will impact on where the taska is.
8. ADT still has not called us.
I hate to work with the figure again. Sengaja I lambatkan.... See how later...
On other note, sejak kebelakangan ni, perasan tak si Adam Mukhriz ni pakai selekeh jer.. tshirt and jeans. Tshirt design dia tu cam uncle-uncle plak tu... and Jeans cut dia tu tak cantik macam dalam Nora Elena(NE). Masa di NE, jeans cutting dia lebih cool lagi... Haha pandai aku komen... korang pandai komen gak tak? ekekekeke...

House Project : Curtain quotations

I love to see all these pictures to get inspiration. To start my day. Kalau asyik ingat problems you will be tangled by it. Let's just think about beautiful things nanti mesti mudah......

Anyway....
Susah jadi project manager. (in a way..)
Susahnya sebab kena merealisasikan goal dan impian sendiri dan orang lain...Outcome kena bagus (walaupun cost seco'et). cost kena maintain. schedule pun kena maintain.
Malam tadi, I managed to cut down the curtain cost from RM13,910 to RM9,700. But the cost still does not make any sense to me. Who paid RM10k for curtains? Is it because my windows are bigger and a lot more? (culture shock dapat rumah besar?).
When I go through each items, it wasn't that bad. Contohnya:
Kitchen - Rm265
Family room - RM 550 (sliding door with 10 feet)
My daughter's room - RM373 (sliding door with 10 feet)
Guest room - RM640 (sliding door with 10 feet)
Maid's room - RM248
Dan sebagainya...
The cheapest is RM16 per meter while the most expensive is RM26. That wasn't that bad for me. Coz merata2 I tengok blog orang ni, paling mahal RM70plus dan paling murah RM50 (melompat2 mereka dengan price ni sebab katanya original price was RM70-90). Or maybe I went to the wrong blog hehehehehehe....
But anyway, I went to Jakel Shah Alam - it was also that RM70 range if not RM100ish while Nilai RM20ish range. So I thought the pricing with this shop wasn't that bad. Shop ni tak ada upah jahit or upah pasang...
Maybe I should get langsir with RM5 per meter. But how long would it last?
My first curtain and blinds for my first house in Singapore was about RM1600. 3 tingkap with blinds, 1 main tingkap with full heights curtain. That was... 10years back lah huhuhu.... Tapi I ingat sebab I was very excited for the first house ever. Mengeluarkan peluh dan tenaga macam sekarang ni lah..
Anyway.... to resolve this problem. I was thinking to do this in phase (inspired by mama-aliaa)... Dia pun tak tau I was inspired by her ekekkeke....

God knows when I would do this phase 2. I was thinking phase 2 would be by monthly order... Betul determine tak nak hutang lol. Kad kredit will not solve your problems. It is A PROBLEM by its own. Shoooh! stay away from it. To me, nanti happy2 berlangsir bagai, every month you suffer with household expenses... I lebih rela tak berlangsir....Tapi berdoa semoga di permudahkan.

Break sekejap dari house projects. Malam ni will be finalizing the curtain pulak. I just paid 50% for the kitchen cabinet. Lega sikit. Wiring man ni senyappp jer, naik risau i.
Tau kat mana Talinn, Estonia? Near to finland and Moscow tak silap. Rupa2nya this is where all the IT talent berkampung. I never heard of this city before. Tapi in terms of technology roll out , lebih bagus dari New York ie. parking sms, online voting, mungkin sebab small, penduduk tak ramai, penduduk receptive, government engage citizen, so maybe sebab tu lebih successful in the implementation kot.
In Talinn.. we guess it is book shop or libraries..

House Projects: Kitchen sink and faucet
I am finalizing the kitchen sink today.
Berita paling best, Sorento and fomtano give discounts. So I save about RM700 plus. So I would love to low it down to an overall total of 2k. The most expensive one is for the kitchen. Dah bagus I can keep it down to less than 1.2K. I love the depth. Ahh tak sabar....
Groeher and Bareno - either they do not have the kind of sink I want or way too expensive.
Today is a bit calm from yesterday. (except that there is a commotion in the office)...
I still have no idea where to get the 9k that was short from the budget provided. I have to really review all items again I guess.
But anyway. Let's go excited again. Problems will be solved, it will. I will find the solution. (haha.. sambil pejam mata ulang2 gitu kan. Percayalah semua problems akan dapat diselesaikan insyaAllah..)
Cam ginilah rupa gayanya nanti kot.... (Ni mama-aleeya punya, aku punya tak ada 3D..but visualnya ginilah the divider/pintu for walk in tu..Cuma aku mintak papan, bukan cermin). Thanks Mama-aleeya. Blog address kat sebelah tu.
Kan? lawa nya laundry area I nanti haha.. Let's call it pantry area lah kan. Sebab I nak jadikan ni tempat makan2 informal for family juga.... Tapi akan jadik cam gini ker kang ek? Positive, positive... Cuma sekarang I tak pasti if I should changed my silver color washer/dryer to white? Aku punya silver macam dalam gambar ni.
Ahhh... lawanya sink ni kan. It was listed as RM1300, after discount RM870. The depth is about 254mm.
Eh... hehe... I am doing this for Allah and them.
White/cream curtain will be alright juga kan.
The pantry area sink will be like this. Listed as RM225, after discount about RM157.
Agak2nya outcomenya lawa ke idak ya. I always wonder.
Paling takut if Allah test me with the contractor. But remember do not doubt Allah. Pray and hope for the best.
Sometimes aku wonder juga, why do we chase dreams? tak kiralah, dreams of sambung belajar, dreams of majlis kahwin, dreams of future anak2... dreams of how to decorate the house etc etc.....
On the other hand, It would be too negative if we do not have dreams kan? If we do not achieve anything. Macam kawan aku joke, "why fuss around things, we died anyway"... macam statement putus asa jer kan. So I think, I prefer to chase my dream rather than waiting to die and not doing or accomplish anything.... kan?

House Projects : Anxiety Attack Part 2
Appointment malam ni cancelled. So I am a bit free. I need the free time just to think and.... re-strategize.

Sorrylah blog ni bakal mengecewakan anda kalian. The house will not be like what you see in the magazine, that is one thing for sure. This is not what this blog is about. Definitely not a designer blog. I have no talent whatsoever in designing. I only have dreams and I am trying to execute some of the dreams with the budget I have. With the time I have.
This blog is about embarking into many of my "delayed" projects. I need to blog the journey so I can record either the project would be a success or a failure. Whether it would be as per my dream or the opposite. I need to see and reflect how I handle it as well.
(Of trying to accept the fact..)
A few months ago, I was searching for ideas for the new house. I found a couple of ideas that I love. Some ada yang I guling2 nak juga walaupun I tahu susah nak dapat. Some I have to make peace with myself to let go of the dream..... Yes, I just realized how true this nasihat to me "you really can't get everything that you want"...
Kalau I kaya pun, mestilah my dream nanti up sket... macam granite top for the kitchen. Right now I do not have that urge, Alhamdulillah. I did want a corian top but I have buried that "wish" long time ago.....Samalah macam I taklah melompat2 nak drive BMW or Merc. Tapi I memang suka Volvo XC90. Pun tak adalah I make it a mission to get one. I am pretty satisfied with the Nissan now. Walaupun technically kereta pinjam.
In short, walaupun I ni Donald Trump, mestilah ada yang I tak boleh nak dapat dan dan tu gak... So sabarlah. Lagipun tak syiok kan kalau masuk rumah, semua dah ada.. dah tak ada apa nak improve. Even company aku yang nak buat systems enhancement tu pun buat in phases. Inikan lagi project kecik2 cam aku ni kan ekekekekeke...dan tak ada profit plak tu kan hehe.
(Lagi ayat2 nak tenangkan fikiran, dan accept the fact I CAN'T GET everything.....)
Bayangkan in a company, each Head of Department(HOD) kena buat budget plan. Bila lebih jer dari company punya kemampuan, HOD kena review the budget plan sampai boleh meet. Dah meet, dah dapat budget, kena pulak monitor jangan over budget.
Samalah juga dengan my house project. Bezanya, I can't argue with finance department since I am the project manager, finance HOD as well as CEO. So sebenarnya lagi susah. Diri sendiri nakkkk, tapi tak sanggup nak let go other items. So ko nak argue ngan sapa kan... ko nak hentak meja nak walk out from meeting dengan sapa kan? Haha! ops, tu contoh jer la... mana ada orang hentak meja kat opis kan?
So last-last kena cakap kat blog, layan perasaan, debate dengan diri sendiri (takut kang debate ngan husband dia risau. ataupun lagi tak dapat ehehehehe) so telannn jer lah sendiri. I promised my hubby, just leave it to me. Yang penting all the needs will be addressed. The current problems will be resolved especially on sleeping issues, cooking issues, storage issues and laundry issues. Those are the critical issues in our lives.
Even though he leave it to me on managing the project selepas we agreed on the budget, dia tetap actively involve in choosing the material, design etc. To me, this is fair. Let me worry about equipping the house with "the needs" dengan the budget both of us agreed together. That's my strength. While he focuses on the "business as usual" operations. kalau dedua in the same project susah la kan. Cukuplah I report once in a while.

I just need to keep to the budget, get the problems resolved, and to ensure my projects won't affect the business operations, (belanja rumah in the future, permanent bills ie water, electricity, astro etc) so all of us will be ok.

From 40k out of budget, now I am a 10k out of budget.
Tonight I was worrying about how to keep to the budget when we need a lot of things. Like, though we will have a laundry section with new washer and dryer, but I need to keep the old washing machine somewhere. Takkan nak buang. Nak letak luar, kang kena hujan. sayang la plak. Nak bawak balik kampung, nak letak mana la plak kan. Rumah besar tapi macam tak sesuai nak letak menda ni kat mana. I was thinking about toilet or store. but other things like ....erm, nevermind.
So kena la plak buat awning and plumbing work for the washer kalau nak letak kat backyard. Grrr! We might need this extra washing machine since our laundry is like a pile of mountains. I am just having difficulties to resolve this right now (it is not as if this problem is as critical as the children who needs medical attention in Palestine ke apa. but I still need to resolvelah kan - thinking aloud is in progress!)
Also, we need the wiring to be done now and not later. Ie. if i were to do the cabinet, the original plug point will be hidden in the cabinet which will not make sense. So we need to relocate it. Ah Choong ni macam tak faham english or malay. So I am still actively searching (desperately) for a good wiring man...
Curtain. We opt for curtain coz we will not be doing the grill. But the quotation came back to us with a whopping RM13k! Who did curtain that expensive anyway? *pengsan*
Btw, all materials are RM28 per meter. So I have set an appointment with Jack to review this pricing. How do you cut this amount to 50%? I need to crush Jack's hope on getting 13k from me. How do you do that? Haha!
Ok that's about all. Let me watch Keeping up with Kardashian to let some steam off.....
